HOW TO PLAY CHASE THE ACE!
Please read thoroughly before ordering tickets! Updates to this information will be made through Facebook posts in the Chase the Ace event.
• To play, you must be at least 18 years old and living in the United States.
• Tickets are $5 each and you can buy as many as you want.
• Tickets are good for the next drawing ONLY.
There are two ways to purchase tickets:
• You can purchase tickets with Venmo the week leading up to the drawing until 7:00 p.m. on the day of the drawing. Payments made via Venmo after 7:00 p.m. on the day of the drawing will be put towards the next week’s drawing or, in the case the Ace is drawn, will be put toward the next fundraising event. If using Venmo, we will “love” your payment once your tickets are filled out. This will be your confirmation that you are in the drawing.
• The Canistota Legion Hall will be open on Saturdays during the fundraiser from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets in person at the Canistota Legion Hall on Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Tickets purchased after 9:00 p.m. on the day of the drawing will be put toward the next week’s drawing or, in the case the Ace is drawn, will be put towards the next fundraising event.
Ticket Ordering Information
• Include your phone number with each payment.
• If you can’t be present to draw your card and you are not available via telephone, you can designate the card you would like to draw (ie. #10) by writing the number on your ticket or, if Venmo, including the number on your Venmo transaction.
• If we are unable to reach you by phone after your name is drawn and there is no card number designated on your ticket or Venmo transaction, you will forfeit your weekly ticket winnings and your opportunity to draw a card. We will not wait until you call us back. A new winner will be drawn.
• You will not receive any type of receipt for your payment.
• Even if you pay early in the week, we may not get your tickets filled out until Saturday.
• We will NOT send pictures of your ticket after they are filled out.
Drawing Information
• The drawing is held live at 9:15 p.m. each Saturday and can be viewed in person or by watching it live on our Facebook page.
• You need not be present to win.
• The person drawing the ticket each week will be randomly selected to draw a single ticket. The single ticket determines our weekly winner.
• If your name is drawn you have automatically won 10% of the weekly ticket sales. You will also get to choose a playing card from the Chase the Ace board. If the Ace of Spades is not drawn, the fundraiser will continue.
• If the Ace of Spades is drawn, the winner will split the total pot 50/50 with the designated charity organizations: United Church Building for the Future Fundraising Project and Canistota American Legion Jenarde Post 162.
• Once a card has been picked it is not returned to the deck.
• Prize money will be sent after we have obtained the necessary tax information.
Board Information
The Chase the Ace board was created by members of both organizations. The Ace of Spades was confirmed to be in the deck, but no one knows where it is located on the board. The cards are sealed on the board.
